There's a a few moments of silence. He's still getting used to working the device after all. Rather than leaving any sort of message, all Ushahin says is, "I see things that nobody else sees." Whether he actually gets back to you is anyone's guess.

[He's been in a state of mild panic, being unable to feel his friend's mind. Relief sweeps through him at hearing the words. The message that comes through is just as garbled.]

Shad-- I haven't been-- and I'm safe.

[ushahin]

I will-- Promise.

[He's worried about Shadow. He's going to run himself ragged because what is taking things easy in a crisis for the hedgehog?]

Do the same, --ittle friend.

[Ushahin feels Shadow's thoughts, tenuous and stretching towards him the way they never have before. He can feel the swirl of them, the tender bits of emotions attached to the images that Ushahin can see inside his mind. So many thoughts of himself as seen through the eyes of his little friend. He doesn't piece it together at first, not until Shadow's words come through. Then there is only darkness left and he begins to panic.]

Shadow? Shadow?!

[But his friend's mind is gone in a heart-achingly familiar way. It's the way the minds of his cousins and god had slowly vanished from his consciousness as they died, leaving only echoes of themselves until there was nothing left but this terrible silence. He knows exactly what has happened. It takes very little time for the tears to begin flowing. Out of all the losses in Hadriel, this one is the worst to bear.]
